'Speed Racer' actor Christian Oliver family had plane accident, 2 daughters killed

The single-engine aircraft, owned and piloted by Robert Sachs, was en route to St. Lucia from J.F. Mitchell Airport in Bequia. Moments after takeoff, the aircraft experienced difficulties and plummeted into the ocean, one nautical mile west of Petit Nevis.

Victims of the Tragedy

The passengers aboard this ill-fated flight were 51-year-old Christian Klepser, known professionally as Christian Oliver, a celebrated actor noted for his role in the 2008 film "Speed Racer," and his daughters, Madita and Annik Klepser, aged 12 and 10, respectively. Klepser was also recognized for his work as the CEO of a small production company in Hollywood.

Rescue Efforts and Investigation

Following the crash, local fishermen and divers from Paget Farm heroically rushed to the crash site to offer assistance. The country's Coast Guard also responded promptly, and after an extensive search, the bodies of all four victims were recovered.
